New Physician Joins Steward Medical Group’s Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Practice

TEMPE, AZ – Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital and Steward Medical Group (SMG) are proud to welcome John Vanderhoof, M.D., to the Steward Medical Group’s Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Center at its Tempe location. 

“We are excited to have Dr. Vanderhoof joining our group,” said Alicia Raschillo, Senior Practice Director with Steward Medical Group. “Dr. Vanderhoof brings years of experience and specialized training to our team at the Steward Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center. Dr. Vanderhoof’s areas of specialty are hand surgery, minimally invasive orthopedic adult and pediatric fracture care, as well as general orthopedics.”

Dr. Vanderhoof is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Upon earning his B.S. Degree in Biology/Physiology from the University of Maryland in 1993 and earning his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1998, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where he scored in the 99th percentile on the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery Board Examination.

Dr. Vanderhoof is a recognized expert in the field of orthopedic surgery, being the recipient of numerous awards including the Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt's Distinguished Service Award. He specializes in minimally invasive orthopedic adult and pediatric fracture care, hand surgery, and general orthopedics. 

Dr. Vanderhoof has clinic hours in the Steward Medical Group’s Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center offices located in the medical office building on the Tempe St. Luke's Hospital’s campus (1492 S. Mill Ave., Tempe, AZ 85281) in Suite 113. He is accepting new patients.
